Work at University of CA, Irvine:Adjunct Faculty in the dance department at the University of California, Irvine teaching social dance, jazz, and Irish dance from January 1996 to June 1998. While in residence at UCI from 1990 to 1992 I taught sections of modern, jazz, and Irish dance courses, and assisted a graduate level videography course. I worked closely with Donald McKayle both at UCI and professionally with Lula Washington's Los Angeles Contemporary Dance Theatre performing some of his famous works: Games, Songs of the Disinherited, the premiere cast of Sombra Y Sol, and an original updated version of West Side Story (Donald was the dance captain of the original Broadway show). I also performed for other faculty and student choreographers while in residence from 1990 to 1992, particularly Claude Thompson, James Penrod, and Kathy Rump. I began working professionally with Princess Cruises in the summer of 1992 after the approval of my thesis: “ The modernization of Irish dance: an exposition of recent changes.” Other Group Fitness Instruction:24 Hour Fitness, Long Beach, CA.
